I am one of the professionals who provide service to the equine residents of Whisper Ranch and I am honored to have the opportunity to do so.  I see all facets of the equine industry in my work...both the very good and the very bad. I can't tell you how gratifying it is to work with an organization that cares so deeply and works so diligently to help suffering animals recover and feel loved, some for the first time in their lives. Shannon has a true God given gift for figuring out just what a rescued animal needs and a true talent for finding just the right home when they are ready for adoption. Animals that find their way into Shannon's care are truly blessed, as are all of us who have the privilege to work with them.
Just as important as the animal lives saved at Whisper Ranch, are the human lives touched, and in many ways saved, by the community outreach programs Shannon and her team engage in. From the youngest of children, to the very elderly, the rescues of Whisper Ranch bring joy and love to all, breaking through the barriers of even the most troubled among us. Such good work often goes unnoticed in the world today, yet it is of the most value to all of us. It truly is God's work. I pray that everyone will realize the value of the efforts at Whisper Ranch and lend your support in whatever way you can.

Shannon Smith's dedication to helping animals and people is extraordinary!

Whisper Ranch is obviously woven into the fabric of the Smith family's life.  As a result of their dedication, formerly abused animals have:

·         Regained health and dignity

·         Experienced trust of humans

·         Provided therapy for abused and neglected people

·         Been placed in qualified homes

I am constantly amazed at the inspiring and impactful work that Whisper Ranch does on such a limited budget.  By sharing the Whisper Ranch story, we bring focus to changing the lives of abused and neglected animals and people, and encourage others to join the cause and support this admirable organization.

Whisper Ranch is providing a much-needed service to animals - not only rescue and rehabilitation but compassionate and careful re-homing as well. This is an area in which rescues are sorely lacking - it is easy to take in an abused, abandoned or starving animal but it is not so easy to let them go when they are ready - or to find the appropriate home. The staff at Whisper Ranch are experts at rehabilitation, utilizing not only nutrition and basic common-sense care to bring an animal back to health, but also professional hoof care, bodywork, saddle fitting, dental care, spiritual care, and any other modalities necessary to bring a horse (or any animal) back to optimal health and usefulness.

However, the "rescue and rehabilitation" does not stop when the animal is re-homed. Adopters are educated in the importance of consistency, and made aware of the effort that went into the animal and strongly encouraged to follow up with the same professionals who were instrumental in the animal's recovery. In this way, bonds are formed between the staff at Whisper Ranch and those who adopt animals there, and lifelong relationships are made. It doesn't get any better than this.

It is rare and refreshing to find a rescue as dedicated to the "Whole Horse" as Whisper Ranch is, and it is a pleasure to work with the Ranch and its entire staff.
