Shannon Smith
Executive Director, President & Founder
|

Shannon, with her beloved Great Dane
"Sam".

Sam the Dane
|
Shannon rescued Sam in the nick of time from an
animal shelter. He was picked up as a stray and due to conditions at
the shelter he was at, he weighed a sad 90lbs and had double pneumonia.
He was scheduled to be put to sleep two hours after she arrived to get him.
That would have been a tragic loss, as he was an amazing canine friend.
Sam died in 2006 and Shannon misses him terribly.

Shannon Benefield shares her life with
her husband, David, daughter, Alexandria, and Maysie,
3yo Puppy Mill Rescue Rat Terrier. She bravely waded through mile
high stacks of miserable paperwork on behalf of Whisper Ranch, so we could
attain all the proper affiliations, certifications, and statuses needed to
serve animals and the community the way we do!
