Update:

May 4, 2007:  Ari is recovering from a Colic Episode involving Nephrosplenic Entrapment.  He's improving daily, but his prognosis will be guarded for a few more days.  The drug therapy at UGA was $750, so any donations toward Ari's care would be extra helpful right now!

22yo Thoroughbred Gelding

4/14/06

This is Ari now!  5 months and WOW, what a difference!!  He's back up to optimal weight and down to one mash meal a day with as much hay and grass as he wants.  His feet and skin are completely healthy again.  He's currently being treated by Bob Sharpe, an Equine Sports Massage Therapist, to get him back in riding condition.

Ari is a total sweetheart!!!

Ari is available for adoption!

Thank you, Ariana (see photo left above) for always taking an interest in loving Ari.  You've been fundamental to his recovery!

Ari

22 year old Thoroughbred Gelding

11/11/05   Day 1

Ari is in a state of serious starvation and has a chronic fungal condition called Rain Rot all over his back, neck, and legs.  Rain Rot occurs most severely on horses that are immune compromised.  Ari has been immune compromised for quite a while.   With treatment and time, we'll get this condition cleared up.

Ari will have his teeth worked on to help him grind and digest the food he's eating.  He will be getting five warm meals a day and plenty of careful supplementation to support his recovery.  Check back often for updates on his progress.  It is amazing to watch these horses make a come back!

Thank you to Michelle Jenkins of Winmark Homes for her faithful sponsorship of Ari!  Your partnership in this rehab is much appreciated, Michelle!
